Who got it started: Dean and Cindy, a great couple who just love Halloween!

How it started: The Terrorfied Forest started as a surprise birthday party hayride on Oct 29th. The guests brought a dish to pass, after the hayride everyone sat around the bonfire telling ghost stories etc.

Why you started it: After 5 years of having a neighborhood party, which got bigger and more elaborate every year, several party goes convinced us we should open it to the public, as it was better than most local haunted attractions. We investigated the possibility of doing that, consulted with some well know haunts, and decided it was feasible to do.

One of the most influential in guiding our decision was Crazy Bob of the Haunted Hydro in Ohio. He told us not to expect to break even until the third year of operation, so if you don’t have the capital to carry you that long don’t bother starting one, and if you don’t break even by the third year, consider closing up shop, your haunt is not good. Truer word have not been spoken, everything he told us was just how it played out. However after 911 happened, the industry has changed, fewer people go out for entertainment. Many young people today would rather sit home with video games than go to a haunted attraction

How much do you love to scare people: There is nothing sweeter than hearing a grown man say “you can’t scare me” then watch him curl up in the fetal position on the ground when you scare him. Wet pants is another indication of how good you have done your job of scaring your victim. The louder a victim screams the more you get into your job as a scare actor.
